The Adventurer is a mix of all the other characters, depending on what equipment you find in the dungeon. His abilities include a variety of spells that are inspired by other character's moves. He also has a signature ability in which he holds up a magic lantern.
The basic lantern nullifies enemy spellcasting, even if they're in the air. It also does damage to enemies when they first enter the light, then more damage if you continue to hold the lantern up by standing still. You can upgrade the lantern to have more abilities, such as doing more damage, or floating around and following you hands-free, or turning you invisible as you hold it up. Or you can replace the lantern entirely with winged boots or an enchanted buckler, if you want to be more like the Rogue/Spellsword or Warrior.
The Adventurer is intended to be a flexible, "jack of all trades" sort of class. Originally, he was intended to be the default starting "introductory" class when the game was going to be free+IAP. Since the game is going to be paid now, we've made some tweaks to him so he's stronger. He also now can be upgraded to be the character that finds the most ability ammo in the game, so you can get the most use out of your spells and ablities.
