It's an annual tradition to pick huckleberries in the mountains in late July/early August. For me as an artist, the berries are a perk of the views, and this little video gives you a glimpse into this year's excursion as well as some of my past paintings that have been directly inspired by these outings in the Pine Pass.
Even when an artist isn't directly painting a subject, what we see and experience shows up in our work, how we view the world and the things we prioritize and love in our paintings. I am thankful to live here in northern British Columbia, where a day trip can bring so much beauty, rugged country and adventure!
