A warm welcome to our water voles! This is the moment we reintroduced these beautiful creatures back into our Haweswater estate. This week 365 water voles were released into their new homes as part of our partnership bid with Cumbria Connect to re-establish this vital part of the ecosystem back to Cumbria. Water voles help engineer new habitats and increase plant diversity along waterways. They will play a part in continuing to improve the biodiversity around the estate and build on the great work we’ve done so far with the RSPB at Haweswater.
