The Ministry of Sports and the Barbados Aquatic Sports Association (BASA) are set to join forces to revive water polo in Barbados after a three-year hiatus.

Minister of Sports and Community Empowerment, Charles Griffith, met with BASA Vice-President and former national water polo coach, Senator Ryan Forde, and past president Cheryl Lady Forde at the Ministry's headquarters to discuss plans for the sport's return.

Griffith says the initiative will initially focus on developing water polo within the school system before expanding into communities across the island.

He also indicated that coaches will be put in place to help develop the athletes, with the programme expected to begin by the end of September.
