Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley says the Ministry of Finance had written to the Barbados Water Authority's management, indicating that payments for basic water rates for St Lucy residents would come to an end next month.

However, she says it has since been agreed that the payment of the basic water rates will be extended beyond September.
