October was an eventful month for us and our work with urban landscape irrigation. We not only kicked-off the 2013/2014 Irrigation Rebate Program, but we also enjoyed great opportunities to connect with water conservation colleagues locally and nationally. In the first week of October, as one part of the team was making moves in West Palm Beach at the South FL Landscape Irrigation Symposium, another part was holding it down at the 2013 WaterSmart Innovations Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Why WaterSmart? To learn how water districts and utilities out west successfully confront water scarcity and how these efforts are most effectively communicated locally and regionally. Mission accomplished? Have a look for yourself!
Special thanks to: Melissa Baum-Haley (Municipal Water District of Orange County), Mackenzie Boyer (University of Florida), Megan Chery (Alliance for Water Efficiency), Michael Dukes (University of Florida) Martha Golea (Weathermatic), Nicole Lise & Doug Bennett (Southern Nevada Water Authority), Peter Mayer (Water DM), Haley Paul (Town of Gilbert, AZ), Richard Restuccia & Alan Harris (ValleyCrest Companies), Carol M. Ward-Morris (Arizona Municipal Water Users Association), Alice Webb-Cole (Metropolitan Water District of Southern California), Reyna Yagi (Denver Water) and Juan Zamora (Chino Basin Water Conservation District).
