A warthog family arrives at a Namibian waterhole, accompanied by four adorable little piglets.

Waterholes are essential gathering places for wildlife, especially during Namibia’s dry periods. Warthogs visit them to drink, cool down and cover themselves in mud, which helps protect their skin from heat, insects and parasites.

Young warthogs usually remain close to their mother while learning where to find food, water and safety. Although they may look calm, warthogs are fast runners and can quickly retreat into nearby burrows when they sense danger.
