Jordan Sorcery | Warhammer 40k & Fantasy’s Lost 80s Comic Book @jordansorcery | Uploaded January 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
In the late 80s, almost a decade before the eventual launch of the Warhammer Monthly comic book, a team of Britain’s most talented writers and artists were assembled to create new stories set in the worlds of 40k and Warhammer Fantasy.
Along with stories about Chainsaw Warrior and characters from Dark Future, there would have been comic strips about Gotrek & Felix, Sigmar Heldenhammer, and Captain Black of the Dark Angel Space Marines. Artists like John Ridgway, Kev Walker, Simon Coleby, Andrew Currie, and Colin Macneil, all of whom would go on to be legendary names in the comics industry, were lined up to work on the Warhammer Comic. But, somehow it just didn’t happen.
This is the unpublished history of The Warhammer Comic, starting with the cartoon strip in White Dwarf issue 1 and going all the way to the launch of the Black Library, Inferno! Magazine, and Warhammer Monthly.
