Ladies and gentlemen, there goes my seventeenth Daw of War voiceover! This one is special for it introduces a brand new unit in the Ultramarines chapter.
There is quite some funny story behind Petrus Silvorientalis' character: he's kind of my baby since I brought up an idea of hero unit for the Ultramarines that has a Western movies aspect to it with the dev team. As an unconditional Clint Eastwood fan, I proposed this character as a tribute to one of my favorite actors. Petrus Silvorientalis is even a latinitized name for Clint Eastwood!
Now let me tell you a bit more about his background story: before joining the Ultramarines, Petrus was a bountyhunter on planet Macragge, he was born in the western part of it, rendered desertic by the Tyranids a long time ago. He was taught Survival and how to use a gun and a knife. Not only was he one of the best, if not the best bountyhunter in Macragge but he also ran bounty hunting missions on other planets such as Meridian, where he became friends with Thaddeus. His unmatched skills in tracking and cold-blooded Killing won him the Ultramarines Chapter's interest and therefore he was inducted as a Primaris Moritat; however he is not as zealous as his brethren and is a rather lone wolf type of guy with a laid back and down-to-earth personality that he build over the years of bounty hunting, as well as an incorrigible love for money. Despite his solitary attitude that earned him aversion from some of his brethren, his unquestioned skills make him a precious asset for the chapter and he essentially runs errands for them. But if there is a mission of great importance, he will respond and fight for the chapter without question.
Although the model was not by me, I am proud of having contributed to this character's creation by voicing him and writing his voice script (yep buddies!). Those who know all about Clint Eastwood will certainly recognize some of the quotes here I reckon but please do not take it as plagiarism: this is all a tribute to Clint Eastwood and I'm not making money out of this. The character was born out of my passion for Western movies and acting.
