In this video, I show you how to use ESM radar with anti-radiation missiles. These types of missiles track on the radar emissions of air to ground radars.
Before you start, you must bind the controls.
I bound my controls to the flowing key combinations.
Switch secondary weapons - Left Shift + S
Switch set Radar/ESM - Ctrl + E
Select Radar/IRST target to lock - left mouse button
Next IFF radar filter - Alt + M
You need to turn on your ESM radar, and if you don't see anything then IFF radar filter might be on. Turn IFF radar filter off.
On the bottom of your ESM radar screen you will see targets with names. You can select different targets by pressing the select radar/IRST target to lock button. You can cycle through the targets you see. Once you selected a target just fire the weapon. For me it is the spacebar key.
Different anti-radiation missiles have different frequency bands.
Missile Frequency Band
CM-102 E/D/F/G/H/I/J
YJ-91A D/E/F/G/H/I
LD-10 E/F/G/H/I/J
Missiles that can cover more frequency bands can track a wider number of air defense radars. However, if your enemy turns off their radar then you can't see them with your ESM radar.
Anti-radiation missiles aren't fire and forget missiles, like active homing radar guided missiles. They are SARH missiles or semi-active radar homing missiles. However, these missiles have IOG or inertial guidance, which will send the missile to their last know position. If they don't move then you will more than likely hit them, but if they move and you don't track them constantly then the missile will miss.
