In this video, I play air assaults on the Norway map with the Su-24M. This aircraft is almost fully upgraded, so it is more capable than the default version.

The Su-24M is a tactical bomber, like the F-111. It isn't like a B-52 or Tu-16 which are strategic bombers. Tactical bombers are used to attack military assets, like ground forces, air fields, military bases, bunkers, troop concentrations, etc. A strategic bombers are used to attack cities, infrastructure, manufacturing plants, factories, etc. Tactical bombers are used in the battlefield, so they usually fly low. Strategic bombers fly high, and they can carry a lot of bombs. This type of bombing doesn't have to accurate, strategic bombers use carpet bombing. Tactical bombers can carry air to air missile to defend themselves, while a strategic bomber needs fighter escorts to defend it. Tactical bombers fly at super sonic speeds, while strategic bombers fly at slower speeds.
The Su-24M can carry a good variety of air to ground missiles, and guided bombs. The Su-24M can carry S-25LD, Kh-23M, Kh-25ML, Kh-29L, Kh-29TE, and Kh-59M laser or TV guided missiles. It could carry unguided rockets of various types, 100 kg to 1,500 kg bombs guided, and unguided. It can carry 4 R-60M IR air to air missiles to for air defense. Surprisingly, it is pretty maneuverable for large and heavy aircraft. This aircraft can perform a turn in 27 seconds, and this is better than the Mig-27 or F-111. Sukhoi was known for making large maneuverable, like the Su-7, Su-17, and Su-27.
Su-24s are in service with 6 countries, like Russia, Ukraine, Iran, Algeria, Libya, and Sudan. 8 other countries retired them, like Azerbaijan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan, while others like Syria, and Iraq were toppled.
This is a 11.7 battle rated aircraft, so it comparable to other aircraft in this class, like the F-111F, Panavia Tornado, JH-7, SEPECAT Jaguar, and others. The Mig-24M is a late 1960s design. It looks very much like the F-111F which influenced it design in that they both use variable geometry wings. The F-111 is no longer in service with the US air force; however, the Su-24 is still in service today. The Su-24 had been getting replaced with the Su-34, which is a 4th generation fighter bomber. The Su-34 can carry modern active homing radar missiles, like R-77s, and it can carry everything the Su-24 can carry. Specialized strike aircraft like this had been phased out by a lot of air forces in this world, and replaced with multi role combat aircraft, like Su-30s/Su-35s, F-15s, F-16s, J-10, J-11A/J-16s, Euro Typhoons, and others. These aircraft can carry as much tonnage as these legacy strike fighter, and they can carry all the weapons these legacy aircraft could carry. They are simply more versatile. The Su-24 was a legacy from the Cold War, surprisingly they are still in service.
