[Synopsis]
In this video, I test the Su-17M4 strike fighter. This aircraft entered service in 1970, and it was produced from 1969 to 1990. It was in service in 30 countries from 1969 to the 2000s. It is currently in service in 5 countries, like Vietnam(32), Iran(30), Yemen(23), Angola(14), and Libya(1).
The Su-17 is a big aircraft being about 19 meters long and weighs about 12.2 tons. It can do a combat turn in about 27 seconds, and that is pretty good for such a big aircraft. It also carries 396 countermeasures which is very good. It has a top speed of 1400 kilometers/hour at low altitudes, and 1860 kilometers/hour at high altitudes.
As for its armaments, it could carry guided missiles, like Kh-29T Television guided, Kh-29L laser guided, and Kh-25ML laser guided missiles. It could carry rockets, and dumb bombs. The Su-17M4 could carry 6 R60M front aspect Infrared missiles. You will not have any problems defending yourself against fighters.
The Su-17 was used in 10 conflicts from 1973 to Dec 8, 2024. The first conflict this aircraft was used was in the Arab-Israeli War 1973 to the Syrian Civil War 2011 to 2024. Over the years, it received new air to ground missiles, like the Kh-29T television guided missile, and Fajr-4 guided rockets.
I just got this aircraft, but I have a Su-22M3 which is similar to the Su-17M4. The Su-22 is the export version of the Su-17. The Su-22 has only has 12 countermeasures, while the Su-17M4 has 396 countermeasures. The Su-22 doesn't have any television guided air to ground missiles. The Su-17M4 is the more capable aircraft compared to the Su-22. If you have a upgraded Su-17M4, it would be formidable.
