This week I'm building this walnut bedside table with sapwood inlay. Sapwood is the outer few layers of a tree, and is usually a lot lighter than the heartwood which is the inner part of the tree. This side table is made entirely out of walnut, but I used the contrast of the inner and outer tree rings to create inlay that highlights the handles of the drawers.
