While walls simply push Mario away, ceilings (and the void) cancel his movement altogether. This leads the game to make an incorrect assumption and ignore floors.

I collect the Chuckster secret Shine without pressing the A button, using only the Hover Nozzle.
This is all pretty straightforward, I hover across the water, get a coin from a poster, and get to the chuckster by bouncing on the nearby Pianta lady and the parasols.

I collect the Bianco 6 Shine by pressing the A button 2 times, using only the Spray Nozzle.
The first A press is used to enter the last set of flipping platforms. Since the nearest platform flips the wrong way, there’s no easy way to just dive at it when it makes a downwards slope facing our starting point and just stay on it.
The second A press is used to collect the Shine, which is out of reach from the usual dive + GP (at least I was never able to make it work). Note that on flat ground like this, you can’t just grab onto a tree with a dive.
Entering the secret area hoverless only takes a Pondskater bounce, but it’s not as trivial as it may seem. Bouncing on the Pondskater directly from a lilypad can be done (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvhM4OGpR-Y&t=1m5s ), but here we have a very limited time frame due to the lilypad’s decay, and we can’t ground pound the lilypad without taking damage twice from the dirty water. Thus I take a more reliable path by first getting on one of the floating logs near the entrance, then waiting for the Pondskater to come close enough. Another possibility is to dive from behind the big windmill, but it’s both as slow as the log route and as unreliable as the lilypad route.
Navigating the secret area involves pushing the boundaries of how far the dive can go and caring way too much about the angle of flipping platforms, sometimes both. Also diving on a trampoline is OP, but more on that in the Bianco 100 coins rocketless strat.

I collect the Sirena 1 Shine without pressing the A button, using only the Spray Nozzle.
Fighting the manta spray-only was never an issue (though this fight is a bit lackluster because I couldnt get a better one to sync for some reason), but we couldnt figure out how to grab the Shine without hovering. The closest we could get was by diving from a nearby tree, but the only attempts that ever made it onto the post used a jump to setup.
But now that we live in the future, we know that Marios sprinkler spray is more powerful than it seems, as it can be used to build up some nice speed on slippery slopes. Unfortunately the A Button Challenge hype has kind of died down in the meantime, so it took me some time to come back to this riddle and realize that when you step on one of the trees lower leaves, it tilts in such a way that its end becomes slippery for a split second. Thats all we need to setup a Beyblade, which easily lets Mario ledgegrab the post. By grabbing the ledge at a specific spot, the ledgegrab is immediately canceled into a normal landing on top of the post, which conveniently allows Mario to dive without a running start, then ground pound into the Shine.

I collect the Ricco 2 Shine without pressing the A button, using only the Hover Nozzle.
Ricco 2 didn’t get much attention since I first uploaded it a year ago. Grassdigger managed to enter the race course hoverless, but the race itself had to be done the long way, because the usual shortcut required jumping with the blooper. The blooperless strat was never seriously considered, as it always seemed either impossible or too slow.
Yesterday, I spent some time in Ricco 2 to figure out the coordinates of the triggers, and took the opportunity to mess around in the level a bit, and that’s really all it took to realize what was possible. The only big difference with the regular blooperless strat is that instead of dropping down onto the lower border of the course for the first checkpoint, I hover into it from the high part so I can get back on top for the rest of the race.
