WALK SAFELY TO SCHOOL
If you noticed the footpaths were a little busier this morning that might be because it's Walk Safely to School Day. For 27 years the organisation has been doing their best to let you know why it's good to get active for your commute. Plus, it can be a pretty handy way to save fuel which you might have heard costs a lot right now
SCHOOL OF THE AIR
One of Australia's most revolutionary schools has just turned 75. Back in 1971 the Alice Springs School of the Air became the first school anywhere in the world to conduct lessons over radio, so those in the most remote areas of Australia could take part in schooling. The school is still going strong today with more modern tech and they've just unveiled a new monument to mark the milestone.
YOUNG PILOT
Recently Rose Donald became the youngest female pilot to fly solo around Australia in a general aviation aircraft, all the while raising 10's of 1000's of dollars for charity. During her flight she celebrated her 18th Birthday and got to see some incredible sites around the country.
BIANCA ADLER
Yesterday you we told you about Bianca Adler becoming the youngest Australian ever to reach the summit of Mt Everest. Well she's now made it back down the mountain safely and arrived at Kathmandu airport with her parents, who Bianca says was the inspiration to climb the world's tallest mountain in the first place.
EIFFEL STAIRS
Our next big feat is something that's had a big number of feet walk up and down them. I'm talking about a spiral segment of the Eiffel Tower's original staircase. The 14 steps just sold at auction for 450,000 euros Which is roughly 845,500 Australian dollars!
