Walk Like an Egyptian is a very well-known song that isn't as easy to sing as it first seems. You've got to cover both the lead and backing vocals, which gives you only a few places to catch your breath in each verse.
Otherwise, it's just a matter of convincing your vocal cords to make those quick pitch changes accurately. Some people sleaze by the scoring on this song by skipping some of the pitch changes entirely and just humming a straight pitch (yes, it does work, and I've seen it done), but as you'll hear on this track, it's totally not necessary.
I only wish my whistling skill were a bit better, but I did what I could with it. Cover your ears if you have to. :)

I finally found a good reason to post an FC run on it, as a response to the ScoreHero Tangled Up In Blue Challenge, where the idea is to try and mimic Dylans singing style (boy do I ever use that term loosely) as much as possible while playing Tangled Up in Blue on Expert Vocals.

This song is a pain in the butt. Period. There are a half dozen phrases that are just really finicky and annoying, and on top of that the optimal overdrive path (which Im not using here in the interests of preserving my own sanity) has a nearly-broken overdrive window.")

Its been a while since I did a SingStar video for my channel so I thought Id fire up SingStar for PS3 for a change of pace.
The song is The Sun Always Shines on TV by a-ha, which is probably my favorite song from this band (Take On Me is better known, but I really think this song is superior).
The notechart for this song is a little strange, and so if it sounds like Im deviating vastly from the original vocals by Morten Harket, dont blame me, blame Sony. :p
Im pretty happy with this performance though. Getting 9000+ points (out of a max of 10000) on Hard difficulty in SingStar is quite challenging on any song.")

This song is ludicrously difficult on Expert vocals. It took me two solid days of practice to finally nail it down well enough to get 100%.
There are weird off-key notes everywhere in this song, in almost every single phrase. And repeated phrases that change every time you sing them. Pitch jumps, crazy slides, barely audible lyrics, the works.
This is easily one of the most difficult songs on the GH5 disc, if not THE most difficult song on vocals.

This is an Easy difficulty blindfolded performance on Drive by Incubus, as it appears in SingStar for PlayStation 3.
I originally had this song recorded completely in its original octave, but my falsetto is a little too weak and got completely drowned out, so I re-recorded it minus falsetto by octave shifting the higher parts down. I do have the original vocal track turned down, but it doesnt work on this particular song. :/
The song itself isnt very hard, though the charting is really weird. I dont really like how SingStar charts the vocal pitchlines, and there are just weird notes charted all over the place on this song.")

Theres not much thats actually difficult about Wings of a Butterfly. There are two times you get back-to-back sustains (For your soul / Dont let go...). There is a really odd phrase about Hell freezing over in our eyes, which has both awkward transitions and odd lyric cadence. Lastly, theres one phrase all the way at the end (Rip out the wings of a butterfly at 3:17) which is charted to the backup harmony singers.
Just make sure you take a deep breath before the sustains and you should be fine for this song.")

While percussion taps are probably one of the most hated features in Rock Band vocals (right behind broken talkies) due to a perception that theyre just there to give you something to do while you have nothing to sing, they do still score points, and missing even a single percussion tap will often cost you thousands of points.
Of all the songs on the Rock Band 2 disc, Bodhisattva has the most points scored from percussion, so Ill annotate this video to help some of you out there who cant seem to get them all with tips and tricks.")

Smokin is one of the hardest songs to score 100% on in Rock Band. Definitely in the top 5 most difficult songs in the game, due to all the crazy improvisation by Brad Delp.
Ive been chipping away at this song for months, slowly learning all the weird pitch jumps and warbles, and this video is actually my first ever FC of the song. This was even more difficult since I dont have anything near resembling Delps extreme tenor, so I had to transpose the whole song down 1 octave to even reach parts of it in falsetto.
Side note: The background venue - Empire State Garden - in this video has shown up randomly in a couple of my recent videos and I thought it was a perfect fit for this song, what with all the flames.

As is typical for my videos, the original vocal track by Lady GaGa and Colby ODonis (thanks Slayerfan7790!) is minimized so you can hear what Im singing.
Lady GaGas one of my guilty pleasures, but I hadnt actually played Just Dance on vocals until recently, whereby I almost failed my sightread because of the bridge (at 3:08) which made absolutely no sense whatsoever to me.
So... this video. After several days of picking away at the pitches in between all those overpowering harmonies, I figured out what most of them were supposed to be. Hopefully this helps some of you out there who were just as surprised as I was to see such a difficult vocal part in Lady GaGa song.
Other than the bridge, theres very very few places to breathe in this song; youre covering for two singers, and theyre both cheating by using multi-track vocals. So take nice deep breaths whenever you can.
Note that some of the just dance lyrics in the chorus are up 1 note. Ill try to annotate it so you can figure out what to watch for, but its another easy way to break combo on this song. And the male parts have absuuuurdly fast lyrics.
And hey, I can always use more practice with my falsetto (which I hate, but it wont get any better if I never use it...)")

Id never even heard this song until yesterday when I finally sat down and played through it for the first time. I got a lot of comments from people saying they were having trouble with it, and I can sort of see why since the chorus has huge octave jumps, but its really not as bad as all that, as youll see and hear for yourself.
This version of the song doesnt match the official music video, so Im guessing this is whats on the album, but the music video has pitched singing for many of the phrases that are charted as talkies, so I went back and memorized those parts and sang them that way because I sound horrible when I try (and fail) to scream. :) Plus its easier on my vocal cords.
As I mentioned above, the chorus seems to be the part that screws with everyone on this song (Breathe for me / Dont wake me from this slumber / Stay with me / Possession taking over), because of the pitch changes. Fortunately you can octave shift it and still make it sound OK - thats what Ive done here, so hopefully that helps some of you figure out how to FC this song.
