Ticks (Ixodidae) are very dangerous parasites that can carry serious illnesses such as Borrelia or Tick-borne encephalitis. Be extremely careful and make sure to check on your clothes and skin after visiting nature!

I have found two ticks on my clothes during my short trip in the woods nearby my hometown and I have conducted a little experiment. I was watching the grass during my walk and, as you can see, found several ticks that were waiting for their hosts. I have also recorded how the ticks react when they come into contact with human clothes.

Usually we encounter them during spring or summer but this video was recorded during winter on 11th February 2022 in Central Europe. The average temperature during the day was about 7 °C.
