Sharks lose and replace more than 30,000 teeth in their lifetimes to stay equipped with a razor-sharp set that will help them easily snatch up prey. You can even find clues about a species’ diet from their tooth shape. Sandbar sharks have sharp, pointed teeth that help them grab onto moving fish. Other shark species have flatter teeth that are better suited for grinding shellfish.
