Advert for the the legendary Vulkon Star Trek Convention of 1996. Vulkon was a scifi convention that was usually Star Trek centric but often had major personalities from other SciFi shows of the times. The hotel it was held in just happened to be right across the street from my apartments at the time and there was also a major mall across the street from both the hotel and my apartments so every year Vulkon was held the mall would be inundated by costumed fanpersons from the convention. It was usually fun and harmless, I don't ever remember anyone doing anything unsafe or unkind in the many years I lived nearby to the hosting hotel. This was one of many different yearly SciFi conventions we had in the area. Shoreleave usually happened in the summer a few miles away in Hunt Valley and Balticon usually took place around Memorial Day weekend in Baltimore City. Then there were the Creation Conventions that sprung up in different places like D.C. and Baltimore.
