Back in November of 2015 I had the opportunity to meet Andy (Trashmonster26) and film in Davis. My goal was to film one of the Amrep Octo MSL collecting cardboard. After film Davis’s Split Amrep and a newer Elliptical we ran out of trucks to film. The only truck we did not find was the MSL. We asked drivers where he was and they had no idea so all we could do is drive around till we film it. A good 10 minutes passed and we saw nothing. My dad, which was the driver for the day accidentally made a wrong turn and left route. He was forced by me to do a U turn and go back on route day but that driving mistake was the thing that happened. Driving back to route I see am tailgate. Even tho it was far away I knew it was the MSL. As we drove closer we pulled behind it and got out of the car. The driver was on a quick 5 minute break. After talking to the diver quick we followed it to its first stop.
After filming it at 5 stops we realized it is going to a lot harder to film it then we thought. Just the lack of stops and the speed of the driver made a bad combo. After filming couple more stops we lost him. We were so bummed out and did not know what to do. So we drove around trying to find it but no luck. We found the Elliptical again and we decided to film it once more. After getting yelled at by a resident we decided to resume the search of the MSL. With our luck today we saw it entering another street just up the road from where we filmed the Elliptical.
We even saw the Split Amrep driver and he was so happy for us as he was madly jumping in the cad and putting on what street it turned into. We resumed filming but it was no easier in this part of the hood’ then on where we first started filming. After filming some more stops we decided to call it a day. Personally i'm happy on how much footage I got of the MSL and how much I got the entire day. I just wish it was warmer as I was freezing my butt off. So yeah that sums up that day, I have to call this filing trip successful as a filmed a good amount of trucks and made a friend.
