He's back! After four years, Voddie Bacham returns to my channel to prove the Bible again. In this short series, we break down a more in-depth presentation where Voddie argues why everything from manuscript evidence to prophecy to the fact that the Bible says it was written by eyewitnesses proves it's reliable. It's as much an examination of the phenomenon of Biblical apologetics as a refutation of the arguments.
In this first episode, Voddie talks about reasons Christians can have for believing in the Bible. He starts by mocking bad reasons such as "It's what I was raised with" and "It changed my life," suggesting Christians should be prepared with a better answer. But then he switches gears and bafflingly concludes with an even worse reason than the rest. It's bizarre, but his journey through varying rationales really tells us something about how pastors and their audiences work together to justify belief.
