Most of us can agree that Greg Locke is terrible. That's not a huge stretch. But the question is why is he terrible? And where does his awfulness come from? Christians would like to disavow him - to say he distorts or misrepresents Christianity or is something separate from the heart of their religion.

However, I disagree. In this two-part series, I argue that Locke is far from a misrepresentation of Christianity and instead represents the logical conclusion of Christian thought. If you want to allow people to assert that God said things or that spiritual dangers exist, you're allowing people like him to flourish, and you offer no safeguards against his madness. In short, the Greg Locke's problem is Christianity's problem, and the only solutions are secular solutions.
