Best heard with headphones and 720p video! :)
Setsuna Trip - one of those songs awesome enough to warrant both a vocal and a clarinet cover :)
It's absolutely brutal to sing though, with the ridiculous tongue twisters, the fast pitch changes in the choruses, and the high G at the end that I practically busted my vocal chords to hit. I think that without splicing, this song would be impossible for me orz
I actually sang this a while back, but couldn't figure out how to mix it until now XD Until now, I've always favoured delay over reverb on vocals, but this morning I had a "Eureka!" moment and found how to use reverb in a way that doesn't muddy up the vocals too much, but nudges it nicely into the mix with good presence as well ^_^ Threw in a bit of Melodyne (which I also discovered this morning) to correct some badly pitched notes, and I found myself with a rather pleasant mix :)
Well, classes start tomorrow for me, so this will be the last video for a while! Especially vocal covers, since I'm commuting this year, and definitely will not be belting while my parents are around. =/ As always, thanks a lot for watching!
Shoutout to Jobo for helping me check the mix! :D
