I built a DIY vocal booth in my bathroom out of PVC pipe and acoustic blankets, for about $200, saving about $500 and getting something perfect for my space. Here's how I did it, and a before/after sound comparison.
BOOTH CONSTRUCTION SUPPLIES

→ 3-way PVC joint: amzn.to/4gyEfDW
→ 4-way PVC joint: amzn.to/4hVQbBR
→ 1 1/4" PVC parts: homedepot.com/s/1%201%2F4%20pvc?NCNI-5

→ 1.25" binder clips: amzn.to/46lix1h
(The booth I didn't buy: vocalboothtogo.com/product/vomo-2019-voice-mobile-audio-recording-booth/?ref=dkadavy%40gmail.com&campaign=ytdiybooth )
ACCESSORIES
→ Heil SB-2 mic stand: amzn.to/4y0OiZg
→ Tablet and mobile-phone holder: amzn.to/4qGxDIb
→ Portable Power Bank: amzn.to/45KIKpZ (AC power caused noise for me)
→ Battery-powered touch lamp: amzn.to/4gwAa2K
→ Bass traps: https://link.amazon/B03tNPKRo
RECORDING GEAR
→ Rode NT-1 Signature Series Condenser Mic: amzn.to/45NE8PW (What my producer recommended – condenser mics pick up *everything*. Must be a quiet space.)
→ Tascam Ministudio US-42 audio interface: amzn.to/4zEn3FI
→ Twozoh XLR cable (3.3 ft): amzn.to/4y5Z1lq
→ iOS "camera adapter": amzn.to/4gh4yj0 (This model is discontinued, but it's what I used to route sound from my mixer to my iPhone for recording.)
→ Voice Record Pro: apps.apple.com/us/app/voice-record-pro/id546983235
LISTEN TO THE AUDIOBOOK, FINISH WHAT MATTERS
→ Audible: amazon.com/dp/B0HDFZ1J28?tag=kadavyinc-20
