Welcome to the 12 days of VLOGMAS! Day 6: Learn how to make Spekulatius cookies! Or rather, learn from my amateur attempt mistakes :D. I try making Spekulatius biscuits for the first time using a traditional "model" (mould) to shape the cookies, then compare those results to using a more contemporary silicone form. Which cookies will turn out better? And yes, of course I share the recipe I used, too!

Of course I illustrate a cookie, too, because that's what I'm all about! And I share some of the fascinating history of Spekulatius / Springerle model. If you love Spekulatius, Speculoos, Speculaas, Dutch Windmill cookies... one cookie many names!... you might enjoy a tiny bit of info on the history of their moulds. More info and traditional mould copies can be found at the links below!
Make yourself a hot beverage, nestle up under your coziest blanket, and make sure to subscribe for 3 Vlogmas videos per week (Dec 1 - 24) to get you into the holiday mood!

I am an illustrator who shares her journey here on YouTube, IG and on my website. I have been on this path since March of 2019, and I learn more every day. I want to share that with you! I LOVE being creative, and learning. I believe in the growth mindset and that though natural talent can make a difference, so can persistence, practice, and enthusiasm.
