In today’s vlog we talk to Whitfield Diffie, winner of the ACM A.M Turing Award 2015, about the greatest challenge in modern cryptography and what inspired his success. We talk to Marithania Silvero, a young researcher from Spain, and ask Beate Spiegel, Managing Director of the Klaus Tschira Foundation, about the Foundation’s support for the HLF.

This year young researchers are joining the #HLF21 from their homes around the world. Marianne Freiberger and Rachel Thomas, editors of www.plus.maths.org, will be their eyes and ears on the ground in Heidelberg in the daily HLF vlog.

The HLF is an international networking event where 200 outstanding young researchers of mathematics and computer science interact with recipients of the disciplines’ most prestigious awards.
