Well here it is. My vlog of my experience of this year's NaNo Week 2. AND CAN I SAY IT'S BEEN A WHIRLWIND. This year's week 2 was especially rough because believe it or not (it's still hard for ME to even believe it) but the U.S. Presidential election fell during NaNoWriMo.
This caused a lot of grief for me. Both literal grief and a sort of metaphorical grief and frustration. But I tried to trudge along, and forced myself to sit down each day to see if I could produce even a single word. Some of those days I was successful and some of those days I failed. But I fell into a sort of denial and numbness and eventually pushed through it all and emerged in a strange lethal state of calmness. It was both entirely strange and also refreshing but it has made me change my perspective on a lot of things in my life. (this is getting more real than I intended).
ANYWAYS, I am finally recovering from the emotional tornado I was thrown into last week. And although my body is scathed and bruised, I get up each day and stand by the people I love and I work hard and fight for what I believe in :) This election has been a sort of call to action for me. I've always gone out and voted, I've gone to rallies. But sometimes that isn't enough. Now I know that. And I will work harder than ever now that I am armed with that knowledge.
But enough of the political mess and mush. This week of NaNo hasn't been that great (admittedly the first week wasn't great either). But I am entering week 3 with a new focus. And I am optimistic!
Also, if you're still here... have you seen Doctor Strange yet?! CUZ OH MY GOD IT'S SO GOOD. I literally will go see it another 7 times. I DON'T CARE. Next on my to-watch list is Trolls though (thanks, Olivia.. I will watch it to keep my spirits up, lol). But seriously... do see Doctor Strange. I'm in love. (Although I was already in love with Mr. Cumberbatch before this movie) ahahahaha. No really though...
Anyways, I gotta get back to writing now. This is taking forever to load cuz I'm on shitty wifi in a hotel room right now. But I'll see you all very soon. Love you all!
