New things in church life have a tendency to take the limelight from existing things. Every time we give energy and resources to a new project and communicate about it in detail, there's a danger that other important things will get less airtime. Of course new intiatives and projects need our time, energy, and resources to get off the ground. The challenge is to make sure we don't lose the emphasis on our key values, including our value of equipping people as whole-life disciples.
