First Ever visit of Vistara Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) Mumbai, India. Vistara is a joint venture between the Tata group and Singapore Airlines. VT-TSD is Vistara’s and India’s first 787-9 Dreamliner. Vistara has a total of 6 787-9s on order.

She flew from Paine Field (Boeing Factory) to Delhi on 29th February 2020 and operated a few crew-training flights from there in the following days. On 19th March, 2020 Vistara operated its Boeing 787-9’s first commercial flight from Delhi to Mumbai Airport as “UK933”.

She is powered by 2x GEnx-1B Engines which weigh 6,147 kg, cost $28.7 million and produce 74,100 lbf thrust each.

Vistara’s 787s are configured with 30 lie-flat business class seats (1-2-1), 21 premium economy seats (2-3-2) and 248 economy class seats (3-3-3). Vistara 789s also feature Panasonic’s High Definition In-Flight-Entertainment systems on all seats.

The 787s were acquired to fly on medium and long-haul flights to Japan and Europe, but due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, they will be deployed on domestic routes till the situation improve.
