A Day of Small Things | Visiting Stratford upon Avon, book haul & Shaketember TBR planning @adayofsmallthings | Uploaded September 2022 | Updated October 2024, 7 minutes ago.
Hi it's Nicole. I visited Stratford upon Avon for the first time last week. It's a beautiful part of the world and there are many wonderful things to see! In this video, I'll take you into the amazing Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Bookshop and into the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. We will go all the way up the Tower and see the town from above. I watched my second Shakespeare play there - All's Well that Ends Well, including a pre-show talk with the director Blanche McIntyre. Many small surprises made for a wonderfully happy day. Let me tell you all about them!

I found some books in a secondhand bookshop called The Shakespeare Hospice Bookshop, including a nearly full set of Virginia Woolf's diaries, a non-fiction book by Persephone, and one about London by the Folio Society.

Lastly, I'm joining Shaketember this year! Shaketember is a month dedicated to reading Shakespeare's plays. We'll be reading All's Well that Ends Well, Corionalus, A Midsummer Night's Dream and a few sonnets. I'll share a few other books and essays I'd like to read in September as part of the Readathon. Towards the end, I went off on a tangent commenting on a few British actors and recommending my favourite book of 2022 so far once again - I can't help it, it's such a marvellous book!
