I read The Rivals (1775) by Richard Brinsley Sheridan for this year's Jane Austen July and learnt about the influence of theatre on Jane Austen's writing, especially on her novel Sense and Sensibility. In this video, I introduce Sheridan, The Rivals and pick out a couple of similarities between the two works. Enjoy!
