Turn your sound on! You do not want to miss this nonsense musical video inspired by a nonsense poem by Lewis Caroll.
Tied to the thoughtful works of photographic art in "Masters of Photography from the Garner Collection," this special 15-minute multi-media performance video takes a closer look at the power of transformation. The performance features two compelling pieces of music for solo clarinet and multimedia: “Advice from a Caterpillar” by South Korean composer Unsuk Chin and “Jabberwocky” by Mexican composer Andrea González.
This colorful and fantastical online program, featuring internationally acclaimed clarinetist Joshua Rubin, will be the world premiere performance of González’s work, which was inspired by the Lewis Carroll poem and created for Art of Elan as a companion piece for this special Virtual SDMA+ concert.
This is a part of Art of Elan’s 14th season concert series called Transformations.
VirtualSDMA + Art of Elan is a series of short online experiences pairing The San Diego Museum of Art permanent collection with the thoughtfully curated music of Art of Elan. Building on the 13-year partnership between the two arts organizations, the video series features short musical responses to works of art that are meant to inspire and uplift the community.
