Vocativ | Virtual Reality Shoes Are This MythBusters' New Project @Vocativ | Uploaded 6 years ago | Updated 2 minutes ago
The man behind Mythbusters is trying to make virtual reality even better — starting with your kicks.
Television co-host Jamie Hyneman is raising money to produce “virtual reality electric shoes.” The shoes acts as mini treadmills, simulating the sensation of walking in a VR environment.
The only current solutions to VR locomotion are expensive and cumbersome treadmills. But this novelty product, for which Hyneman is asking $50,000, is a longshot.
Potential backers have been told “It might work. It might not work. We’ll know soon.”
We sure hope they do.
