Viraj Dhabalia, BBA Class of 2024, shares her experience as a student at Ahmedabad University and how it culminated into her receiving offers from the likes of Duke University, Northeastern University, and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for her graduate studies! Viraj will be going to Duke University to pursue a Master of Quantitative Management programme in Business Analytics.
Viraj, a Business Analytics major at Ahmedabad University, also minored in Finance to build a skillset compatible with global standards of excellence. During her time at Ahmedabad University, Viraj did an Undergraduate Research Project (UGRP) analysing Fortune 500 companies and their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) through which she was able to work closely with faculty and assist them in their research. Aside from her engagement with research, Viraj spent a semester abroad at Lingnan University in Hong Kong as part of Ahmedabad University’s semester exchange programme. At Lingnan, Viraj not only took courses that honed her theoretical and practical capabilities, but she also acquainted herself with living alone in a foreign country and soft skills such as communication and networking.
For aspiring students vying to be admitted to competitive universities around the world, Viraj has a few tips–be authentic, talk to your potential university’s alumni and admissions officers, assess the university’s curriculum and faculty, ensure that the employment opportunities offered by the university are harmonious with your expectations, and lastly, demonstrate an interest towards becoming part of the university's community and culture!
