I visited an Antique Store in my town and this trunk was sitting in the yard. It caught my eye. I took a closer look, open the lid which fell off and noticed that it was pretty grubby. As a glutton for punishment that I am, of course I bought it. Cleaning this old trunk up was quite a job. It was probably much quicker to make than fix it up. It was very badly scratched and the original markings were impossible to read apart from the it is a Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) Trunk made in 1954. It belonged to someone in 10 Squadron, Townsville.
I do still have to make some handles for it, but I think it will make a good blanket box or coffee table now.
