Chris Saenz | Vinta - Sodalite - Kislap (Shimmer) - Ink Profile @ChrisSaenz13 | Uploaded August 2021 | Updated October 2024, 10 hours ago.
In this video I show you how this shimmer ink did in my ink journals and we look at a water test, chromatography, comparison panel, and long writing sample on 52 gsm Tomoe River Paper. This is Vinta Inks Sodalite - Kislap (shimmer) a Vanness exclusive which will be on sale starting Aug. 28, 2021 exclusively at Vanness for $14.99 for a 30 ml bottle. They will also have limited samples available.

The ink is named after a mineral found in Arkansas. I have some darker blue Sodalite crystals so my curiosity is really peaked about this ... I know that Sodalite is lighter blue in rough unpolished form and also I've heard there are great places to find crystals in Arkansas - it makes me wish I still lived in Oklahoma!!!!
Anyway, my goal with this video is to show you enough so that you'll know whether you would like to purchase a sample. As always, lights, screens and cameras can change the colors quite a bit especially the complex colors like this ... it looks more blue to me in person but then it depends on the paper too and so that makes it VERY interesting!
I found that this ink pleased me best in my Noodler's Ahab with a Fountain Pen Revolution Ultra Flex nib and in my Hongdian Fude nib because these pens put down a lot of ink and that helps the smoothness and ink output ... I like how it looked especially well in the FPR Ultra Flex nib.
