Newly released body-worn camera video shows Anne Arundel County police officers opening fire while confronting an alleged carjacking suspect. County police said officers were initially called on May 7 to the area of Crain Highway and 11th Avenue in Glen Burnie for a reported hit-and-run crash. Officers later learned that the suspect, Jasmin Cooper, 28, of Crownsville, allegedly hit a car and that a relative drove out to check on Cooper. Investigators said Cooper then got into the relative's car and sped off. She was found less than half an hour later at a townhouse development on Pioneer Drive in Severn, police said. The bodycam video released Monday shows officers trying to block the car in a cul-de-sac and demanding Cooper to turn the car off. Police said the video shows Cooper then driving toward the officers, two of whom fired their guns, striking Cooper.
