A team of rescuers from the Lafayette Colorado Fire Department and an animal protection officer boarded a flamingo paddle boat to save an unhappy snapping turtle on July 29. They found the turtle caught in a discarded fishing line and freed the reptile. The fire department urged people to properly pack all fishing line and tackle.
