With the first flight of Vickers VC10 G-ARTA took place on 29th June 1962 - Fifty years later a 50th anniversary event was held at the Brooklands Museum. Many VC10 fans from all over the world gathered at the museum and enjoyed looking at old film footage, rare photographs and listening to talks by VC10 designers, pilots and others with a connection to this iconic aircraft. These included the unique Christopher Orlebar (sadly no longer with us), Concorde’s Mike Bannister, the RAF's Keven Brookes and Matt Lane and the lovely Josie Payne who experienced, but lived through the 1974 Dubai VC10 Hijacking. The video is some three hours long, but is a unique record of the development and adventures of this versatility aircraft
