This is primarily a holiday video for the family, but it all so remembers the events of 75 years ago in Crete.
As a child I read the book and then saw the Film Ill met by moonlight. This sparked an interest in the Kidnap of General Kreipe by offices of the SOE along with the Cretan resistance. Although this was a holiday I wanted to visit the site of the abduction as well as the village of Anogeia where he was held captive for a short time before being taken to Cairo by boat. Largely as punishment for this and other support for the British, the Village was completely destroyed by the Germans a few months later.
