This one took me about two weeks to put together, using Vegas. I upload all my videos here before I do onto animemusicvideos.org to prove that they are indeed mine, on the off-chance that someone decides to steal any of my videos in the future. The song is "My Mannequin Can Dance" by Matchbook Romance, and this is the "sequel" to my video "Amnesia In Comfort". Enjoy, although the sync is probably off. It doesn't matter. This is just here for profiling purposes.

CrabTheSky - A Frank Discussion About AMVs feat. TRUTH CRAB

$CrackTheSky - Shards Its been over a month and a half since I completed this video and Ive been contemplating what I want to write here but everything has seemed inadequate. Ill do my best. Back at the beginning of 2017, a very close friend of mine passed away unexpectedly; she was a few years younger than I was and it came as a complete shock to me and everyone who knew her. It was one of the few times in my life where Ive been confronted by grief that seemed close to overwhelming me. I remember the breakdown I had the night I found out never have I felt quite as desolate as I did in that moment. It was terrible. Things have gotten better over the years, but every so often Ill be hit with a memory of her out of nowhere, or shell be in one of my dreams, and it all comes rushing back. This video is not about Jenna, but since that time Ive been wanting to make an AMV that communicates even a fraction of what it means to grieve the loss of someone close to you. Youll find an (admittedly somewhat abstract) exploration of this concept here although I didnt like Mawaru Penguindrum while I was watching it (like, at all), almost all the characters in it had lost someone important to them at some point in their lives, and a lot of the anime was showing how they worked through the grief of that loss. This was one of those videos where, as I made it, I felt much more sympathetic towards the characters than I ever did while I was actually watching the anime. Take from that what you will, but the anime ended up working really well with this concept. The video itself is very moody, and a bit looser than it probably could be from an editing perspective, but thats very much how I wanted it to feel. Im really satisfied with the way it came out, but even so this is one of the saddest videos to me, anyway that Ive ever made. I hope you still enjoy it. Thank you for watching.
