I examine 3 ways to get 640x480 on the Color Classic, then implement the VGA Mod. Before/After screens shown. VGA lets you to use software that won't work on 512x384.

🤓 IMPORTANT INFO NOT MENTIONED IN VIDEO
• You must adjust the CC CRT when switching between 640x480 & 800x600 because it's not Multi-sync.
• There's no "motherboard mod" to get 640x480. You can change Line Sense on the motherboard or ribbon cable but not Horizontal Deflection Voltage. That's why we make Line Sense & Deflection Voltage changes on the Analog Board.
• Like 512x384? After doing the Mystic upgrade, I used a ResEdit-hacked System Enabler 065 v1.1 in System 7.1 to get it to work at 512x384 (doesn't work with S7.5.5): bit.ly/3HhyPtU
• ResEdit hacks to the System file in 7.5.x, 7.6.x & OS 8.x are required for the LC575 Mystic motherboard to work at 512x384 if you do NOT do the logic board mod (ResEdit hacks needed if you do a 640x480 VGA mod): bit.ly/3VAm9qK
• An LC575 logic board "resistor mod" lets you use the stock CC resolution of 512x384 without need for any ResEdit hacks: powercc.org/mystic
• The more robust and durable LC575 Analog Board can be cut to fit inside a CC, and METHOD #1 or METHOD #3 can be used. But the Flyback transformer from CC Analog board must be used: amba.to/3obq7G4

♨️ I baked the Radeon 4850 video card at 200°C/392°F for 9 minutes. I chose 9 minutes because after reading much about this subject, some people said 8 minutes and others 10, so I chose the average.
‼️ If you use Arctic Silver 5 like I did, dont use too much because when the heatsink presses down on it, excess paste may spill onto the tiny capacitors surrounding the GPU and the capacitive nature of that paste can cause problems. Arctic MX-4 which is not electrically conductive, so you can use that instead on the GPU. But I still recommend getting the K4 Pro and K5 Pro dual paste kit because you need a thermal pad replacement for the memory chips on the video card.

💁♂️ Most people in the Comments section who tried the bake find success. Few have serious problems. Those with problems ask and I try to help.
Several people have said you dont need to remove the motherboard. My answer to that is, yes you do if you want to change the BR2032 battery on the back side of the motherboard. Even if you dont think you want to change the battery, at least remove the old one. Even lithium button cell batteries leak after many years of being installed in electronics. And for those of you who dont care about any of that, simply watch my 2nd bake video to see how to go about the bake WITHOUT removing the motherboard.

What inspired me to do the 1st bake was another YouTuber who did the same repair and who said recently his iMac had been running fine for 17 months since the repair as of Feb. 2017.
