Remembrance Day Nov 11: From a CBC Vancouver TV series, WW11 "Forces Sweetheart" VERA LYNN sings "Yours" and "Auf Wiederseh'n" which was #1 for 9 weeks from July 12 1952 on the US Billboard charts, the first British singer to do so, and the record 9 weeks at #1 stood for 16 years till the Beatles matched it in 1968 with "Hey Jude." Dame Vera Lynn turned 100 this year. She released the album "Vera Lynn 100" in 2017 to commemorate her centennial year. It was a # 3 hit in the UK, making her the oldest recording artist in the world and first centenarian performer to have an album in the charts!
