Abstract
This presentation will describe a vendor independent network segmentation architecture for the enterprise network that will 1) minimize network blast radius, 2) minimize network attack surface, and 3) minimize network cost. This presentation will share implementation details and lessons learned at the University of Idaho.
Brian Jemes:
Brian is an Oregon farm boy who spent the first half of his career, as a network engineer/architect, helping grow the "HP Internet" and plan for significant divestitures (e.g. Agilent) and mergers (e.g. Compaq). Brian returned to the Pacific Northwest where he spent the second half of his career, as a network manager, leading the University of Idaho network team through major changes including network firewall implementation, explosive Wireless LAN growth, and cloud migrations. Brian has served on the westnet.net board since 2019.
