In statistics, variance measures the deviation from the mean. To calculate the variance, the sum of the squared variances is divided by the number of values.
Variance
The variance now describes the squared average distance from the mean. Because the values are squared, the result has a different unit (just the unit squared) than the original values. Therefore, it is difficult to relate the results.
Difference between variance and standard deviation
So, the difference between the variance and standard deviation dispersion parameter is that the standard deviation measures the average distance from the mean and the variance measures the squared average distance from the mean. Put another way, the variance is the squared standard deviation and the standard deviation is the root of the variance.

![Pearson correlation [Simply explained]
What is a Pearson correlation? The Pearson correlation analyses the linear relationship between two variables. With the help of the Pearson correlation coefficient r which is between -1 and 1 we can determine:
How strong the correlation is
and in which direction the correlation goes.

![One-Way ANOVA [Analysis of Variance] simply explained
This video is about analysis of variance, or ANOVA for short. We discuss what an ANOVA is and why you need it. We look at the hypotheses and the prerequisites for an analysis of variance, and I show you how to calculate an ANOVA and what the equations behind an ANOVA are. Finally, we discuss how to interpret the results and take a look at the post-hoc test. First of all, there are different types of analysis of variance. The simplest and most common form is the one-way analysis of variance. And this video is all about the one-way analysis of variance.
