Disclaimer : I am in no way a professional “van converter guy!” These videos share my experience during my conversion, highlighting the things that went well….and not so well.
Going into the build my goal was to have hot water for my sink and shower, a furnace, and a working stove/oven. That meant I needed a decent size propane tank to run everything. I did my research and went for it!
Again, I had a ton of help from friends and family since this was all new to me.
Also keep in mind that all the work covered in this video happened over the course of several months. It wasn’t a task we could knock out in a single push.
Supplies and Tools
I started out by purchasing the large items I would need like the furnace, hot water heater, oven/stove, and propane tank so I could figure out where they would live within the van. The rest of the items were purchased from a local hardware store along the way.

If I was to put all the time it took to complete the propane in my van together I would say it was roughly around 4 days at eight hours a day. That’s with all the included help I had.
