As part of Valero’s $100,000 commitment to Ducks Unlimited for the 40 Arpent Canal Terracing Project in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, interns and employees at Valero’s Meraux Refinery recently took part in planting native plant species on earthen terraces, helping coastal restoration efforts in Louisiana. The terraces reduce wind and wave action, improve nursery habitats for fisheries and reduce erosion of adjacent marshes.
