Vale of Tears were an Hungarian doom/death metal band. The band was only active from 1993 to 1996, having only released this demo.
Front and foremost, I think Vale of Tears are a doom metal band. There are more sombre and solemn moments in this demo more than anything else. That and the vocals. Those sure are some vocals. I find them odd but in a positive way. Sometimes the band pumps up the intensity and some death shows up, but you never really hear any growls or down-tuned low IQ riffs.
Definitely an interesting demo and something different to break the monotony of only sick riffs we have here in the channel.

![Shellshock - Warfare [Full Album - 2024]
Warfare is the 2nd full length produced by the one-man project Shellshock.
You see some war themed album and you already know its wearing its influences on its sleeves. You know you can expect some beefy Bolt Thrower worship from this. You take that and join it with a modern style production and that great campy feeling you can only get with garage bands and youll find Shellshocks sound.

![Dominus - Parable of Death [Full Demo - 1992]
Dominus were an American death metal band. Formed in 1991 as Genocyde, they changed their name to Dominus after the release of a single self-titled demo and released 2 other demos before spliting-up in 1994. Parable of Death was their first demo as Dominus.
With an extremely dynamic sound, Dominus absolutely aced this demo, which is funny because there isnt anything in specific on their music that stands out - everything just works together very well. They arent very derivative actually, Dominus definitely put their spin on death metal, at least in the guitar department. Wish I could pinpoint some influences, but this band does stand out.

![Necrolord - Nocturnal Blasphemy [Full Demo - 1994]
Necrolord are an American death metal band. Formed in 92, they have released 6 demos, 9 EPs and 10 LPs (very prolific band). Nocturnal Blasphemy was their 3rd demo (Ive just uploaded their 2nd demo Kingdom of Hell on the channel).
This one takes a bit more influence from groups like Deicide (but not to their blistering speeds) or Morbid Angel, having catchier and faster riffs.
I also have to mention how funny the album title font is, it just doesnt fit the aesthetic of the cover art... I love the 90s so much.

![Sanatório - Rotten Penetration [Full Demo - 1999]
Sanatório where a Brazilian brutal death metal band and in this demo they pack one hell of a punch. If you can get through the intro, which is pretty much sex moaning (bands, please stop doing this, Ive never met anyone that enjoys it), you can expect really aggressive broots and a lot of plummeting riffs!
Tracklist:
00:00 - Intro/Rotten Penetration

![Nefarion - Dominion [Full Demo - 1994]
Nefarion were a death metal band from the USA. Formed in the early 90s, they released only 3 demos before quitting.
I feel like they wanted to mimic Deicides sheer rage and spite in their music, but never quite achieved it - but they did do a LOT with what they managed to pull off. In these 15 minutes, you will hear pure hate in death metal form, with a guitar player that is all over the fret board, a drummer that matches that energy perfectly and a cacodemon on the vocals.

![Absurd Conception - Receptacle of Nonsense [Full Demo - 1990]
Absurd Conception were an Italian death metal band. Formed in 88, Receptacle of Nonsense was the only release they ever did.
This band takes a LOT from crossover thrash, from the song structures to their overall attitude. Lots of super fast skanks and faster riffs followed by mid-paced melodic breaks. Death metal thats just begging to be accompanied by a circle pit.

00:00 - Invocation

![Queiron - Blessed by Brutality of Evil [Full Demo - 1998]
Queiron are a Brazilian death metal band, formed in 1995. As of the upload of this video, the band have released 5 demos, 1 EP and 5 full-lengths (the latest one being in 2018). Quite surprising to find a band thats been active for 26 years without any downtime.
Blessed by Brutality of Evil might just be one of the cheesiest titles Ive ever seen, but damn if this doesnt scream late 90s DIY - and you know i fucking love these amateurish efforts to make music. Although the production isnt that great, Queiron still delivers some kick ass riffs, especially on the 2nd track.

00:00 - Eternal Suffocation
06:35 - Youd Better Light a Candle...

![The Art of Butchery - Promo 95 [Full Demo - 1995]
The Art of Butchery were a Spanish brutal death metal band. Theyve released this promo in 95 and their debut album, My Pleasure is Your Pain a year later in 96. The album is literally this demo but with a more fitting production - yep, same tracklist and all!
While their music fits into the style of brutal death, Id say they are still very rooted in good old mid 90s death metal. Also, finding brutal death with some cosmic horror themes is always nice, not super common! Their first 2 tracks also diverge from the average broots track length, going up to the 7min mark! Its a shame the guitars sound quite thin sometimes and the kick drum isnt very powerful because damn the vocals go nuts sometimes, the drummer is really skilled and the riffs are pretty dynamic! This is something they would later work on a little for the debut album if youre interested in hearing this under a different light :)
Tracklist:
00:00 - The Cosmic Horrors
06:03 - With My Methods of Hate
13:15 - Syndrome of Total Spinal Cord Dissection

![Black Insanity - The Suffer [Full Demo - 1991]
Black Insanity are a death/thrash metal band from Germany. They have released 4 demos since 1987, The Suffer being their second release.
Some bits of this demo remind me heavily of Possessed - Seven Churches while others remind me of something bands like Magus, Massacra or Incubus/Opprobrium would do. Its a really nice mix of the two styles (even if theyre not super super far from eachother)
Tracklist:
00:00 - Symphonies of Gore

![Sadomasochism - Demo [Full Demo - 1999]
Sadomasochism, now known as Flesh for the Beast, were an American brutal death metal band. They formed in 99 and changed their name in 2004, after releasing 2 demos and 1 LP under the original moniker.
I had to do a little fact checking myself for this release since it isnt logged anywhere (Discogs, Metal Archives, etc etc...). I believe this is the right band were talking about. The address on the tape, Michigan, matches the info online and some track titles are the same as the 2001 demo. All that was left to do was listening to that demo and check out if the riffs match.... They kinda do. Sodomize Your Soul, renamed as Sodomize the Soul, Intestinal Remains, and Fucking the Rotting Corpse, renamed to Fucking Her Rotting Corpse, are quite a bit different, but Soiled closed the deal to me, the version you hear here is pretty close to what you get on the 2001 demo. So yeah, Im pretty safely saying this is the same band and all the other tracks were reworked.
All in all, very solid late 90s broots. Its always really awesome to find something that isnt registered anywhere.
Tracklist:
00:00 - Regius
03:09 - Sodomize Your Soul
07:59 - Fucking the Rotting Corpse
11:26 - Pre-Manufactured Hatred
15:06 - Soiled
19:31 - Intestinal Remains

![Asmodeu - Mortal Remains [Full Demo - 1993]
Asmodeu were a death/thrash metal band from Brazil. Formed in 1988, they released 3 demos and this was their last recorded material.
Even though I included thrash as a genre for this band, their stuff sticks to mostly mid-tempo riffs. There are, of course, some faster bits but I feel like theyre interrupted too fast most of the times. Regardless, if you can over how much the crash cymbals sting your ears sometimes, its a really good piece of Brazilian metal, home of some of the coolest OG thrash!
Tracklist:
00:00 - Off the Beaten Path
03:25 - Mortal Remains
07:59 - The Edge
11:42 - Flesh and Bone
13:58 - Lethargy
