An international group of researchers combined the Artec 3D Scanning SDK and Artec Spider mounted with a robotic arm to develop a new automated 3D scanning method which produces precision 3D models of objects. Comparative tests have shown the new method effectively outperforms previous 3D scanning techniques even when scanning small objects with complicated geometry.
