Did you know that two teams of Buffalo Soldiers once played baseball on what is today’s University of Utah campus? Utah has a strong history with early African-American baseball teams, and although the Buffalo Soldier Giants and Browns might not be as well known as the Occidentals or the Monarchs, we’re proud to be able to showcase another part of both sports history and military history in our state.
